Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?

Submitted by Erin Sharter (United States), Jul 22, 2005 at 14:50

I didn't used to fear Muslims, but I am starting to feel differently. Sometimes it is hard to keep my thoughts clear because I do have Muslim friends.

But the terrorists who kill in the name of Islam make me wonder why it's always the Muslims doing the random killings. Seriously, did anyone gasp in surprise when the London bombers turned out to be Muslims? I am surprised if a blast turns out to be committed by non-Muslims. I think I am slowly being conditioned to view them with distrust. I even feel sorry for the English, who embraced all of their Muslim immigrants only to realize now that in some cases maybe it's stupid to be so trusting
