Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: Why Christians hate Muslims.....

Submitted by P. (United States), Dec 29, 2004 at 19:17

First of all, I grew up in a Muslim nation, Albania, where, owing to the Ottomans, about 65% of the population ascribes to islam. It is true that Albania was a Christian land prior to the Ottoman invasion. We do not hate Muslisms. We hate their way of trying to impose their beliefs upon others.

You begin by saying that Muslims conquered Christian lands. The word conquer means dominance. Christians don't want to be dominated.

The second point you are making is that Muslims created Empires. Look and examine what did those empires do for humanity? Nothing. All nations that were under the Ottomans rule are poor, backward, underdeveloped, etc.

Thirdly, you argue that islam is the fastest growing religion. It may be true, but not because Christians are converting to islam. It is because muslims are having 10, 12, 20, children, and because Christian nations do not prevent muslims from trying to convert
Christians. But if Christians are allowed to go to Muslim nations and preach Christianity, you will see the difference.

Fourthly, you argue that most scientists and famous people are muslims. Well, that tells me that you never studied science, or technology, or arts, or literature, or anything else. It would be more interesting if you do your research first and then make that statement. ...

I wish I had more time.
Peace in Christ
