in response to reader comment: religion causes poverty

Submitted by SAHAYA RANI (India), Dec 1, 2010 at 04:58

... How can anyone say that religion is the cause for poverty, when both are seperate entities. Though i am a practicising catholic, i can definitely say that religion has no role to play in each individuals poverty and their status. We as rational beings do not wish to attribute out ill-fate such as poverty, hunger and illiteracy to religion, as these should lead us to question the ecomomic and political quotion on any country. What do you say...do not tag the people in the name of religion, caste and creed... this work is already done by your preceeders. If you wish to contribute to a society help remove these tags...right ??
