Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?

Submitted by Macnos (Switzerland), Feb 16, 2006 at 17:46

One day here in Switzerland at an international school go to i asked one muslim why their religion is filled with so much violence and his response was "You don't know what Islam is all about". That really pissed me off because i always make an effort of understanding something before i critisize it and i certainly did that with Islam.

Even though i am a Christian i have read the muslim holy book to find out if it really incited hatred and i did not have to read for long before i found what i was looking for. I was shocked at how dangerous Islam is... There are aways people who try to pin the blame on the suicide bombers saying they are just a minority but that is all a lie, islam itself is to blame. What can you really expect from a religion that stones women to death for having an affair (i'm not saying women should sleep with men other than their husbands but killing them for it is just too much). It really infuriates me when i see all those muslims holding up plaques that say " KILL THOSE WHO INSULT ISLAM". It only goes to show that killing "INFIDELS" is what they do best. All those who say Islam is a peaceful religion are pathetic, they probably think that peace is strapping explosives to your chest and go blow up innocent people or that peace is throwing petrol bombs at embassies in the hope of burning someone alive. I BELIEVE ISLAM IS THE GREATEST THREAT TO THE WORLD SINCE HITLER AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING
