Radicals must be defeated

Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?

Submitted by Tim Dolan (United States), Dec 23, 2004 at 12:13

Most Muslims are not knowledgeable about their own religion. They speak of tolerance, however the fundamentalist version of the religion asks them to be violent against those who do not believe or practice it...Great tolerance!

The United States has long been a haven for those persons repressed religiously and politically...it is ironic that now these same people want to do harm to the greatest place on earth.

The United States is on the right track in the middle east...it is a generational thing. Most of the problems that are happening now in Pakistan, Iraq, Iran the Phillipines etc. will never completely go away, however we may be able to look back in 20 or 30 years and see a greater tolerance for a mixture of cultures in the middle east...where western capitalism along with middle eastern religion can blend and prosper. In the meantime we will continue to kill those terrorists that seek to harm us...Just remember there millions more of us than them.

Tolerance is more of an avoidence than anything....you are free to practice your religion in almost any manner you wish here in the US. But don't try and accuse the US of trying to subrogate your religion because we are primarily Christian...we have our beliefs you have your beliefs....only time and death will reveal who is right and who is wrong. Just dont mess with my way of life....or you will pay the price!
