Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?

Submitted by Veronica William (United States), May 12, 2004 at 01:44

I continue to read of Islamic Americans running for American Congress. Several have told me that they choose to run on as a Democratic, "because the Democratic Party is unbias toward religion and is not promoting any religion"...BUT...these same Islamic candidates have (numerous times) expressed - to what they apparently "thought" was an Islamic audience - that one of their goals is TO PROMOTE ISLAM and provide legislation that will cause Islamic interest to be reverenced"...not 'respected" as all religions should be..but REVERENCED! hmmm.

My family has lived abroad, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and I have personally heard Islamic leaders in these countries comment that the Islamic goal is to convert America into an "Islamic nation". Even as the men who implemented the 9/11 attacks manipulated the U.S. freedoms to attack the U.S., so I believe these "candidates" are using the Democratic Party for non-Democratic purposes. And other political groups are NOT exempt! And some are so BLINDED by the desire to "be nice!", they are being fools!

Those who hate us depend on Americans to not read, research, nor awaken from their slumber!!! Do you think that Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, or any other Islamic nations would allow a Westerner to infiltrate their culture and try to convert them to a "Christian" nation? No WAY! Do you think you could build church buildings...NO WAY! Evangelism?... an invitation to be slaughtered!

But we feel we've got to be "Nice". These individuals scream for acceptance...but they are not accepting. They say "peace", but they mean "comply or die". Okay, now don't believe me...9/11 will happen again, no matter "who" is in the White House, if America doesn't drop the 1960's flower child mentality and recognize that although peace and acceptance is needed...so are BRAINS!!!
