Hello Plato,

These verses do not contradict each other, one is an instruction to general Muslims and other is an instruction to Rasool and His companions, which are being used by God to implement judgment on earth and to punish wrong doers by their hands.

Let me tell you one hadith, in which Prophet said, that no one can save his life, wealth and property unless he says by mouth that God is one, He does not have any partner and Muhammad is His Rasool.
