Regarding the cartoons, it is regrettable that people were killed. I do not discount their right to demonstration, yet violence is unacceptable. I strongly condemn the cartoons because of their worthlessness, but I do not condone any violence made because of them. That was the wrong reaction to the problem.

Muslims should have, as they did in many places in America, sat down with television and news people and discussed why the cartoons were distasteful to many Muslims. I do not think that the people in the demonstrations who did not perpetrate violence are radical by any means.
