Hey Robert,

You know why Japan was nuked. Because they were as crazy as the mollas today. They would fight to death without seeing the reason or realising the futility of war. Shintoism was simmilar to Islam in this regard. It glorified suicide.

During WWII Japs were worse than the Germans in the way they treated their prisoners and civilians under their occupation, with Nanking being only an example. They were not always like this, during the Russo Japanese war 1904 -05( Japan won) the conduct of war was fair and prisoners were treated reasonably. America entered the war only when japan knocked of her naval base in the Pearl Harbour, so American interests in the Pacific were affected. Liberation of Philipines and such were only a by product the American reaction. Also it took Americans a couple of Iwo-Jimas to realise that japs could only be brought to surrender by the worst possible Brute force. Two BIG punches and reason dawned on Hirohito. What followed is history :) Germans were treated to similar bombings ( fire bombing of cities like Dresden )

Had Germans kept their jews during the war and instead prevented Turks and Arabs from entering during the 60s Deutscheland would have been a safer place. France and Denmark is already paying the price.
