Muslims, Sunni,Shite,Sufi, Islam, caliph, Muhammed, Al lah, Ummah, dar es salam, etc, etc, etc, are words which advance the cause of the followers of Muhammed. When we use this vernacular, we demonstrate our knowledge and understanding of the Muslims and "Islam". We also waste the effort. The terminology, or more accurately the jargon, of the debate regarding "Islamic terror" is largely wasted.

Two facts come to mind, 1: ALL muslims are followers of Muhammed's teachings and example. 2: Without Muhammed's ideology of expansion of religion by the "Sword" "Islam" as a, mental construct, cannot survive. Conclusion: the deconstruction of Muhammedism will lead to the deconstruction "Islam" which is the internalized ideal of Muhammed. This is the soft spot in Muhammedism, and the reason that any discussion or representation of Muhammed is so much a threat to Muhammedians. All Muslims are Muhammedians. The koran, regardless of contrary protestations, is only a book which may be interpreted at will.

Muhammed was so far as we know, was an actual person whose example and acts are what Muhammedians look to for inspiration. We need more literature critical of Muhammed, more cartoons depicting Muhammed as the tyrannt he was, more deconstruction of the Muhammedic myth. At the very least, Muhammedic deconstruction would stimulate discussion and reinforce the principal of freedom of speech and inquiry.
