Caleb ,

Will you kindly answer the questions I have asked you ? In case you forgot them , one of them was about the Turkish arithmetics where 18%=40% .

> Why did the government (military junta) in Athens provide no help to fellow Greeks on Cyprus once "Operation Attila" had been launched from Turkey?<

For the same reason the Turks didn't invade Cypus in 1964. Now a more interesting question is why the Turks were allowed by the same masters who had forbidden the invasion in 1964 to invade in 1974 ?

> The shameful answer is that Archbishop Makarios was too "Cypriot", not sufficiently pro-**enosis** for Athens' taste.<

The shameful answer is that Makarios was too independent and preferred to look for and did find friends in other places than Washington. Kissinger never forgave him this freedom of choice which made the solution of Cyprus issue no longer an American prerogative but an international problem. As Kissinger put it on 15.07.1974 : "our immediate objective is to keep this thing from becoming internationalized, the Greek-Turk problem, the Soviet angle. There is really nothing we can do at this time internally but we can keep it from becoming an international issue."

> If Istanbul is to be called Constantinople then Salonica not "Thessaloniki" is the birthplace of Kemal Attaturk (the "Islamist" who abolished the Moslem Caliphate) and I suppose New York City is New Amsterdam! <

As far as I know the name "Ataturk" was invented only in 1934 when your new born baby was 53 years old and the name "Kemal" was given him by his maths teacher when the new born was about ten. He was given the title "ghazi" ("victorious jihadist" like Orkhan Ghazi) in 1921. He was promoted to become "pasha" by his Young Turkish masters and friends ... As you can see Mustapha changed his names as often as he changed his faces and friends. The war started by him in 1919 was a fully fledged jihad. But as he got a death fatwa with a civil war and a price put on his head by the caliph and his sheikh ul-Islam the brand new victorious jihadist had to get rid of the caliphate to survive and stay in power.

As to New Amsterdam I can't recall any siege , massacres and changing the main Kalvinist church there into an Anglican cathedral , forced conversions and discrimination of the Dutch cattle (rayas) , stealing Dutch boys to make fanatical Anglicans of them or any Postal Service Law imposed by President Washington or any of his followers to punish those with a better memory than theirs. In short, your comparison is intentionally misleading .
