Reader comment on item: Turkey in Cyprus vs. Israel in Gaza

Submitted by James Burke (Canada), Jul 27, 2010 at 12:23

Dr Pipes -

Prime Minister David Cameron just urged Israel to lift its blockade of the Gaza Strip, saying that Gaza is a prison camp. "Let me be clear that the situation in Gaza has to change... Gaza cannot and must not be allowed to remain a prison camp," during a visit to Turkey.

What a disgusting, treacherous people the british are. Of course gaza is a prison camp. it is run by Hamas!!

PM Camerson said this knowing that 1) there is no downside to his popularity given the levels of polite antisemetism in britain 2) he will have to say things to make deals - ie, release murderers in the name of muhammed in british jails- with muslim turkey.

Forget about Cyprus - no oil there and not useful to the Brits. But to the muslim world, the Brits cannot jump on all fours fast enough.

Dr Pipes I have a theory - the proliferation of latin, german, danish, italian, spanish, etcc. words in the English language. English is unlike other european languages to the degree it has absorbed so many words from different languages.

Is it because the english of old were so treacherous and so dim that they had to steal words from other lanugages, and change them to mold them into sounding more anglo, to express themselves? Is this an indication of their degree of nastiness? Similar to the large collection of artifacts, in british museums, from other cultures, the english stole? they are so nasty, they can intellectually support what they did, like the Vatican, and refuse to return them.

Canada - we have enough ex-brits here already who have fled their island - they will only contaminate Canadian culture even more with their twisted liberalism.
