some of us live in the 21st Century

Reader comment on item: Turkey in Cyprus vs. Israel in Gaza
in response to reader comment: Ianus - again

Kaan writes to Ianus:
"Why are you so obsessed with religion? ...."

My perception is that Ianus is not at all obsessed with religion - in fact very few persons on this site are. But they are concerned with the spread of an absurd cult which is entirely fascist in nature and in antipathy to basic priniciples that that Western cultures have fought for and obtained over ages often at great cost.

If Islam was just a religion - rather than being the fascist religio/political ideology which it is - there would be no problem. Has that never occurred to you? Can you not see the distinction?

Do you object that people have the right to criticise fascism? Or is it that you just don't like them exercising that right when their cause is not on your side?

Can you find as many or indeed any blogs aginst any other religion forgetting of course anti-jewish blogs from muslm groups - or frothing-at-the-mouth crackpots who are convinced and try to convince others that the Twin Towers destruction was an inside job , brought down by micro-nuclear charges.by the 'Zionist' influenced US government etc etc

Are there any anti-Buddhist blogs on the Net apart from those sponsor by that other great fascist institution - the China Communist Party?

Any anti-Hindu sites - again, not those run by muslims?

Why are there so many sites - in all languages and across all cultures - English speaking and non-English speaking - which focus on the atrocities and absurdities and hypocrisy of this bizarre belief system being brought to the West and paid for by petro-dollars? Any idea? Could it be that there is a common experience and perception of muslms and the effects of muslims on other cultures - and indeed - the effect of Islam and muslims on other muslims in muslim cultures?

I'm not aware if Kaan has said he is a muslim or not - but that's irrelevant. He's certainly not seeing things clearly if he is coming to islam's defence.

That being that islam is a retrograde belief system which solves no problems but causes many. - which is destined for a spectacular demise when most of its blinded adherents finally get the true freedom to vote with their feet - and are allowed to choose their own beliefs without any covert or overt threats from the scared, frightened little men who insist others hang on to their delusions because that's all they themselves know.

"We are in 21st century! ".."

Meaning what - spread of democracy, human rights and individual freedom? Freedom to choose the religion or other belief system of your choice? Like we have in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, Somalia etc etc

Why do so many muslims state they do not like democracy? Yet choose o live under it? Yes, in democracies there are winers and losers. But under sharia - there are only losers - in more ways than one.

Or meaning we now how sophisticated technologies + advancements in all areas of human endeavour ??

Thanks to whom? Muslims and Islam????

I thought the Islamic year this year was 1430 or so, no?

Let's see - that makes it the 15th Century for Muslims doesn't it? aybe being a little too generous - but that's about right.

It seems unfortunately that rto catch up - rather than putting the effort in to advance themselves - they choose to either kill their imagined enemies or find some other way to drag everyone back to their level

- - or even further.
