For the readers our dear oguztogla who does not speak, read or write Arabic is pontificating about Arabic and i call this pure ignorance

The Arabic (and Quranic) word al-ruum means the Greeks. The Arabic words al- yunaniyuun or al-ighreeq means the Greeks and the term al-ambaratoriyya al-romaniya al-sharqiyya means the Eastern Roman Empire and you will find all these words in the islamic historical tradition

And this is his bogus answer

>I say""""""""""""""No,

wa minkum nastafeed

Oh the Arabic? May be you can ask your mullah to tell you what it means but let me warn you it is sarcasm

>al-Ruum is Roma citizen or or citizensArabs started to know the TheEast Roman empire just after the Latin crusade in 1202 to Istanbul(Former Konstaninopolis). The east roman emperor escaped to Tranzon for 60years .In this period latins founded a new state in Istanbul named""ROMANIA""."""""There is/was no wording in arabic for Bzantion in any date.Greeks were """yunani""" because of the Ionian lands who speaks Greek ""igreek means"" Y """in arabic.

ROTFL so Romania must be the Quranic al-ruum! Sobhanallah oh darn it so al-tabari and his likes were all liars! ...

Here is your lesson again

1. The Quranic word al-ruum (the title of Chapter 30 of the qur'an) means the Greeks

2. The word al-ruum is a loan word from Syriac romayye or the Roman soldiers (read the word roman here as the Greeks)

3. The word al-yunaniyuun (s. is Yunani) means the Greeks and it ain't from the ionian islands

4. The word al-ighreeq (s. ighriqi) means the Greeks and i suspect it is from the root GhRQ

5. The Arab historians knew very well that al-ambaratoriyya al-romaniyya al-sharqiyya was very much polyglot so they never tell us that Egypt that was part of such empire for 1000 years is ina masr juz' men bilad al-ruum or Egypt is part of the country of the Greeks becuase they knew better

6. The Arab historians tell us that bilad al-ruum or the lands (read it as country) of the Greeks is really Asia Minor and today's Greece and the Greek islands and Cyprus and they also tell us that such Greeks can be like for example Alexander the Great was called Eskander al-maqduni or Alexander from Macedonia and a Greek from Cyprus is called qubrusi or he who is from Cyprus (and is Greek) and oh the Ionian islands/ Those that come from such islands were called al-ayoniyuun but they were also yunaniyuun and aghreeq and ruum

... Shame on you
