Definitely, Moslem Turkey has its own ideas on what to do with the land recently re-conquered for dar al-Islam. It started by wantonly desacrating all existing churches , changed 77 of them into mosques , the rest into stables, latrines, depots etc. . It built a mosque in almost every village occupied by imported Anatolian peasants attaching an imam from Turkey to it. It devastated and/or obliterated all non-Moslem cemeteries and other monuments reminiscent of the cursed kaffiri past. It proceeded to loot some 16,000 icons, wall paintings and mosaics and other pieces of art lying around. It found Cypriote soil rich in archaeological treasures , so it dug and stole from it anything of value destroying or scattering the rest. As Thus it managed to smuggle approximately 60,000 archaeological items for sale on the black markets of antiquities across the world earning a fortune. Furthermore , due to its legal singularity the north of Cyprus has become a safe haven for crime of all sort . It attracted e.g. such wanted thieves as Asil Nadir , ex-chief executive of Polly Peck - once upon a time one of the UK's largest businesses. 66 charges of theft and fraud had been raised against him in Britain including that of secretly "transferring nearly £200m from Polly Peck to companies in northern Cyprus in the two years before the group collapsed in 1990." Yet he enjoys full freedom and property worth millions of pounds in Northern Cyprus . Or you can see gangsters suspected of having killed on order in the south three members of the Guzelyurtlu family and having tried to murder another one , living undisturbed in the north . Add to this flourishing Turkish-controlled human trafficking and smuggling drugs and illegal immigrants via North Cyprus to Greek Cyrpus and further to the West to get a better idea of how ingeniously and in a truly Islamical spirit the Turks have been using their conquered part of Cyprus since 1974.
