Reader comment on item: Turkey in Cyprus vs. Israel in Gaza

Submitted by gulse (Turkey), Jul 27, 2010 at 03:50

this article ... should be evaulated in this manner by the readers.

first of all, turkish orgined people, who have been living in cyprus before 1974 and are as native as greek orgined ones in the island, are also a part of cyprus population and should have equal rights as greek orgined people. but in this article only the turkish people moved to cyprus after 1974 are mentioned in a manner to persuade and misdirect the reader. in cyprus conflict, greek side never talks about the rights of turkish origined cyprus people, which appears to be a dishonest approach in the name of human rights that they built their statements on.

secondly, wild murders of turkish orgined cyprus population by greek origined ones before 1974 are never mentioned in this article. these murders were performed by radical greek orgined cyprus people and were also one of the reasons of the conflict.

If cyprus conflict would have been solved in the human rights perspective, goods and bads of the both sides should be mentioned and discussed honestly. Eventhough this article is talking about some important and real issues, it would be invalid as it is not giving the whole picture objectively and hiding greek sides bad and turkish sides good.
