Tugba is correct. History is not something you can shape and you can't be two faced about it either.

Well the Armenians have been saying that for decades and only recently a growing number of countries have recognised the issue and given voice in recognising the Armenian's plight. All except Turkey and others with similar views.

Then of course there is the issue of that amazing cosmopolitan city of Smyrna and how the Turks managed to deal with that politically, via an ethnic cleansing solution. Then there are the Kurds.... One could go on. So, being two faced and reshaping history ( denial by another name) is not a trait peculiar to the West alone.Clearly it is embraced enthusiastically by all who don't want to deal with reality or truth.

The Greek governments of the past have made their own disasterous contributions to matters in that region and Cyprus is the most recent example. And Tugba is right about EOKA, they were thugs and I can't think of one redeeming feature that one could attribute to them .Thugs are always thugs. However that does not excuse Turkey's response and behaviour in Cyprus. Rather it reflects a similar thuggish trait.
