Reader comment on item: Turkey in Cyprus vs. Israel in Gaza
in response to reader comment: Cyprus test for anyone

At the end of his primary school quiz oguztolga inserted a strange , unrefrenced statement :

"the Athens court of appeal, in its decision of March 21, 1979, Greek Court of Cassation (in case no. 2658/79)held that Turkey's intervention in Cyprus was legal according to Zurich and London treaties in 1960 which were signed by Greece/Turkey/UK "

This is another plariarism by him - this time it is from Turkish daily "Today's Zaman"

The aburdity of the claim by the state-controlled Turkish newspaper is very funny if one just bears in mind that neither Greek nor any other court of appeal has comeptence to decide on international issues, let alone contravene and cancel numerous UN Security Council and General Asssembly resolutions condemning the Turkish invasion of Cyprus as illegal and hence making any claims as to the legality of the facts created by it invalid. If it could do that , then it would stand above the UN organisation. Hence not a single state except Turkey has recognized the so called Turkish Republic of northern Cyprus. The case referred to has is a compensation case.

Thoughtless erratic plagiarism won't get you very far!
