As you very well know Turkey is a secular country, even Erdogan cannot change that.It will stay like that as we have no petrol therefore we sell manufactured goods to keep our population in fair living standard,we are the 17th biggest economy in the world.Women have equal rights and they are a part of our workforce'

It follows from that we do not call non moslems kuffar ,same as right minded Europeans do not call us infidels ,like you do.The world has moved on since the 19th century. So quoting Koranic verses do not wash,a fatwa has no legal standing in Turkey,as a private person you can follow verses and the fatwas, but these do not bind the nation.

We do not give a fig about the Wahhabis. Our Ottoman ancestors fought them and defeated them and chased them out of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina to the wilds of Arabia. After the Ottoman sultan was betrayed by the Wahhabis in alliance with the British (T.E.Lawrence) they took over Arabia. In 1930s American companies struck petrol and the wahhabis flush with money and with American support were able to peddle their regressive ideology throughout the poorer and more ignorant regions of the Islamic world,as IANUS would say the rest is history.
