INVITING TURKEY TO NATO

Reader comment on item: Does Turkey Still Belong in NATO?

Submitted by JACQUES HADIDA (United States), Apr 6, 2009 at 13:24

Inviting Turkey to NATO is like inviting a friend who has too many cousins and nephews to a party. Sooner or later these cousins and nephews will feel like joining the party, invited or not, as their friend is already there and he will support them.

This, I am affraid is an open door to potential unnecesary problems, adding religion to politics. Do we really need that?
