To Ianus, the Grand Infidel of Kafiristan, and dhimmi no more.

I have been reading your comments to the Turks herein and have learned a lot from your factual and intelligent rebuttals. I will also have to say that I appreciate berk akk's conciliatory tone as that is a start.

The problem, however, is Islam plain and simple. In order for Muslims to abandon their Allah given perception of Islamic superiority and that Jihad is required to attain the highest place in their heaven, they would have to say to themselves that they do not really believe those Quranic verses that consider Muslims to be superior to kafirs, that require them to fight and kill infidels, and that require them to make Allah's religion supreme and only the religion in the world.

If then they could simply rationalize that the violent Suras of the Quran are not valid for a peaceful and free world where we could all concentrate on working together with creativity and innovation for the betterment of all mankind (not just those who believe in Allah)( as opposed to bombing and killing infidels and preventing an opposing faith view in Muslim countries).

Wouldn't it be great if we could let these faith ideas (or none at all) compete with each other as goods in a market place (without threat of bodily harm and throats slashed)?

The problem is that if they were to abrogate certain verses of the Quran, then would not the entire Quran be suspect including the promise of houris (sp) and round eyed boys and gardens with flowing waters? Did Muhammad actually have a visitation from Gabriel or was it a demon as he originally thought? My vote is for the demon judging by the "fruits" of this prophet.

Another practical observation I have is purely economic. GDP of the entire Islamic world in 2007 is about $2.9 trillion for about 1.1 billion people. GDP of Germany in 2007 was about 3.3 trillion for about 80 million people. The Islamic GDP number includes the oil revenues.

My question is if Islam ever does take over the world given the poor economic track record of Islamic countries combined, who will feed the world? I understand that Israel has more patents and copy rights that all of the Islamic countries combined (or maybe it's just the Arab countries)(per Wafa Sultan).

Continued creativity and innovation are a must for the world to handle the increased populations to come in the future. Islam's stifling lack of freedom is NOT the answer. It would be the END as the Iranian IDIOT is predicting.

Logic and rational thinking do not seem to work with those that hold Islam and the Quran in high esteem (the word of allah) and they are the Muslims that lead the Islamist takeover's of countries (i.e. Taliban).
