"NATO is trying to expand. If Turkey changes side, NATO will lose the ability to expand and the balance of power will shift away from NATO. Perhaps a Russian-Turkish-Chinese alliance is better than NATO.. "

And if Turkey can switch sides so easily the Russians will of course ask themselves who needs such treacherous allies?
