Obama sending wrong signals

Reader comment on item: Does Turkey Still Belong in NATO?

Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Apr 8, 2009 at 04:44

It is reported that President Obama bribed Erdogen with important top NATO posts so that he could drop his Islamist objections to Rasmussen. This totally sends a wrong message to Turkey, muslims and the west. This confirms Turkish leaders to forward an Islamist agenda since it brings rewards. This also puts the secular leaders in Turkey on the wrong foot.

This shows the US administration has learnt nothing from history and Obama looks like an idiot. If Turkey ever turns fully Islamist, the US would have played no small part in it. This is due to woolly headed apparoach to Islamism by the US government.
