Reader comment on item: Does Turkey Still Belong in NATO?
in response to reader comment: Turkey should be Ousted from Nato

Still world is unable to comprehend why NATO is being expanded and deployed across the world. Why NATO troops are allowed to fight in Afghanistan? Here Western countries are silent like cucumber. No conscious western raise objection that killing of innocent people will provoke and make victims Afghani people to react any where. It is human psyche. America without having credible evidence toppled the government of Taliban and killed hundred of thousands innocent people. But you people supported the stance of government and never bothered about severe consequences.

Now western countries have targeted to oust Turkey from NATO. In principle NATO after disintegration of USSR should have been defunct but under the influence of US, it was expanded to make it global force, which is flagrant violation of UN. Sorry to say, people are emphasizing their governments to sun stupid activities which are creating dangerous situations for others.

When Turkey refused to give provides air base to US against Iraq, she was criticized by hollow and heartless politicians and media critics. European Union without any rhyme and reason did not allow Turkey to be its member. She was not given membership because she is a Muslim state. West frequently condemned Turkey on the issue if human rights violations but keep silent on the killing of innocent people in Palestine, Kashmir and other parts of the world. Now conspiracy has been designed by jingoistic and conservatives to keep Turkey out from NATO on the flimsy grounds.
