A Good Idea of Christianity

in response to reader comment: Contemplating Christianity

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), May 21, 2009 at 13:26

Permitting an observation from an interested observer, that in contemplating Christianity, it is a good idea to have the best source for understanding the Truth that it contains, the Holy Bible. Adding to the previous post's observations about how early Christianity started to stray from the original words of Jesus Christ, and the later additions of adopting religious practices from pagan rituals in order to attract 'converts' were all part of the process to dilute Christianity, even until the time of the Islamic prophet, who took the revisionist form of it to heart while having his words taken down.

Monotheism comes from the Hebrew origins of the Jewish faith, for Christ was, of course, found in the fashion of a Jewish man before His death on the cross. Christianity is therefore an extension of the Jewish faith, and non-Jewish persons such as this writer are adopted in the Kingdom through the grace and mercy of Almighty God through Jesus Christ the LORD. The Biblical form of Christianity was lost when the compromises to soften the truth while witnessing to non-Christians became the norm, and Biblical truth lost out to religious traditions. Later, with the infusion of more and more non-Jewish converts to Christianity, so then the rise of anti-Semitism for the religious reasons that struck terror to Hebrews throughout history commenced and continues until this day. Couple that with the rise of Islam and we see the central cause of the world's contentions in the Middle East regarding what to do with Israel.

In the context of the original theme of this post, all of this culminates in the Holy Bible telling those who understand what to expect next. Turkey's inclusion into the foray is unmistakably Biblical, and it will be a matter of historical footnotes that will tell us later how that nation will be a key part in the world's attempt to gain peace at Israel's expense.

Christianity, or more specifically, the following of the Truth in the Holy Bible is more than just a good idea, it is a means to separate truth from the fiction being spread to divert attention from what is going to happen next. History is in the making as we read about how new vigor is to be injected into the 'Road Map to Peace' process, that of dividing Israel as part of the 'two-state' solution. The President of the United States had his conference with the Israeli Prime Minister and promoted the division. The head of the Catholic Church essentially violated the Holy Bible by asserting his vision of dividing Israel as well. At least in the Islamic mindset, including Turkey, there is simplicity to their solution; they would eliminate Israel all-together.

The bottom line in the good idea of contemplating Christianity is to settle on the central truth of it, that accepting the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for payment of an individual's sin debt is the only way to prepare for the future, especially considering the events about to befall the Middle East, and the world at large. Israel is not going to go away, nor be easily approached to give any more land for peace. It is not Biblical correct to expect anything other than judgment if one does not believe in the WORD of the LORD, and not having salvation in Jesus Christ guarantees that judgment for any thinking the world is going to win an argument against the Holy One of Israel. Averting that judgment is the good idea of Christianity.
