If I wrote self-observations (e.g. in Germany last year a German told me : "What the Turks did to the Armenians , they will do one day to us here too") , you would retort - to quote your point in the post you submitted May 1, 2009 at 13:51 "Initial discussion" :

"Taking small number of percentages for a general judgement may bring wrong results".

So there you claim that one can't rely on "small number of percentages" (what percentage might your 'self-observation' be ... 0,000 076 % ? ) to make "a general judgement". And here with that microscopic number you are trying to make 'a general judgement' and discredit valid statements published by newspapers which are otherwise notorious for their dhimmitude ? ... Turks never change ... just like in Confucius' saying "Only a perfect sage or a perfect i... never change" ...I doubt in Turkish wisdom and you know what 'word' stands for 'i...', don't you?

But , anyway, I understand your insidious hidden point well. Your 'self-observation' is invented ad hoc to obfuscate and efface the unpleasant facts about your angelic Turkishness which turns out to be invariably the very opposite of what you blindly believe it is. All nonsense that seems to you to glorify it you consider as valid and preferable to the hard facts on the ground that expose your bliss of being a Turk as self--delusion. Now, 13 publishers bring 'Mein Kampf' on the market and you say "So what? My self observations 'prove' 'THERE IS NO HITLER SYMPATHY HERE'." I quote after the Israeli newspaper an honest Turkish expert in political sciences who speaks of "re-emergence of Nazism in Turkey" and you, an engineer and no political scientist at all , "prove" he's 'wrong' by "I TALK TO PEOPLE EVERYWHERE." ... This way you can "prove" anything you wish as long as you talk to the 'right' people ... and that in a country notorious for conformism of its citizens and where freedom of speech doesn't exit .

And what is your point about 'easy Google search'? It saves time and you often get results and finds comparable or even better to a laborious search in a big library. I did both so I can compare. What is more , through google I have found books and articles which no library here has got. So I encourage everybody it to use this easy tool first for self-education. Thus critical thinking is stimulated a lot and self-observation without critical thinking produces no fruitful results. Self-observation is certainly good for some extra anecdotes but by far not enough to make a valid general point ...just like spices alone can't make a palatable soup and are just an extra to staple products like vegetables , meat, water etc.
