Reader comment on item: Islam's Future [Can Be Modern]
in response to reader comment: islam, shairah, evil and usa.....what it really means

Submitted by James Riis (United States), Apr 11, 2006 at 18:14

I found your comment very thoughtful. As I have study more about Islam, Judaism and Christianity, I have come to the conclusion that sin is prevelent in all religions and that we who follow one or the other must always get to the core of belief in God. God is forgiveness and love above all else. Jesus knew this and this was the core of his message. In my readings of the Koran, there are many passages that contradict this notion, but the core of what is said always is God is forgiveness and love. While Muhammad was a man, though enligthened by God, he was still a man with all the failings and sins of any man. Being a Lutheran (a follower of Martin Luther's teachings which go back to St. Paul), I have found many things in Martin Luther's life that when held up to the bright light of God, don't measure up. He too failed to achieve the sinnless life. As we all do.

It is time for Islam to separate religion from state. There are too many temptations for the state to use religion for it's own purposes, not God's. The Islamic fundamentalists are no better than Christian or Jewish fundamentalists. They all pervert God's word for evil and destruction. They all kill in the name of their god, but not in God's name. The Devil is alive and well and continues to plague mankind with evil and we continue to fall for the Devil's tricks.

We all need to step back and talk with one another about our beliefs. We need to respect the others and stop hating.
