Reader comment on item: Islam's Future [Can Be Modern]

...Islam was never spread by sword (it's a Christian myth meant to deflect the attention from evangelism, persecution and inquisition that characterised christian conversions). To all those looking for proof may well turn the pages of history to see how many civilisations and races did Christianity destroy (Mayans, Incas, Sub-Saharan, Red-Indians...the list is endless). There are many cases of Christian persecution against the Jews (contrary to Christian apologists, Hitler was very much a practising Christian)or adherents of primitive religions, but none takes the cake as the past Christian persecution against Muslims; the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition. Of course the bloodletting is very much on in Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechenya...

With the exception of Victorian England and Renaissance, Christians have very little civilisation to show on their books; of course, they never fail to bask in the glory of pre-christianity Roman and Greek empires. In contrast, Muslims created some of the greatest civilisation - Moors in Spain, Ottoman in Turkey & Europe, Abbassids in Arabian Peninsuila, Moghuls in India etc. The greatness of these civilisation may be lost in the history books of west, but for those curious there's a lot be amazed about...
