Hatred of U.S.

Reader comment on item: Islam's Future [Can Be Modern]

Submitted by E. Noel Fletcher (United States), Aug 14, 2002 at 12:14

I find your article suggesting the possibility of a modernization/moderation of Islam to be entirely believable.

I am not convinced that the virulent hatred of the West stems from Islam.

I often hear people say they do not understand how people can hate us so much.

Yet our teachers' unions, with their handmaiden the Federal Department of Education, have effectively indoctrinated our primary and secondary students with anti-U.S. beliefs. Those students are thus prepared for immersion in the anti-U.S. attitude which dominates many U.S. college campuses.

Seeing that success, how can anyone wonder how foreign governments and schools controlled by those governments can instill anti-U.S. hatred in their students?
