Islam is being vilified by friends of Israel

Reader comment on item: Islam's Future [Can Be Modern]
in response to reader comment: NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE ACTIVE TERRORISTS

Submitted by sammy (United States), Jun 30, 2007 at 01:48

First of all, I am a muslim and I have known hundreds of muslims in my lifetime and none of them are, or ever will be, terrorists.

Second, you cannot blame the religion as a whole for the actions of a few terrorists within it. It always seems that the word "terrorist" has been equated with the word "arab" or "muslim" in the American media and I think this is deliberate. Its the usual brainwashing causing hatred and misunderstanding that the US media is well known for. Can you blame all Christians for the actions of the POPE during the crusades or Hitler during WW2?

Be logical here, most of you people on this panel ...would hate Islam even without 911 or any terrorist acts attributed to members of the religion. ... Get a life, your president went after the Taliban and then after went right into IRAQ who had nothing to do with 911? Why did he do that? One, to protect Israel, two, to line the pockets of his and Cheney's friends at Haliburton and other republican corporations. Its an economic and militant policy and its gonna fail.

No religion is inherently evil. Islam, when it refers to killing anybody, it is in the context of the battles Mohammed had in Arabia with the pagan tribes that were trying to kill him. It doesn't say to kill non-muslims in the streets in the Koran. It respects the two religions before it and references them in scriptures. Abraham, Moses, Jesus, David, Soloman, Noah, Shem. Isaac, Ismail among many others are respected prohets in ISlam. Muslims were called on by the Koran to PROTECT Christian and Jewish temples and churches and could even marry Christians and Jews and have children with them without a problem. Yes, people I have read the Koran and I know this, I am not telling you these things from ... like the people on this discussion are.

If you want to bash anyone, bash the wahabbi sect that brain washes the people into being violent towards non-muslims. Do you know where this sect originated and is being taught to people? SAUDI ARABIA who is one of the US's closest allies. Pakistan is another ally and Pakistan is a mess of fundamentalism that is absolutely insane at its core. These two countries are where the most insane terrorists are coming from even still, most Saudis and Pakistanis are non-violent decent people.
