Hatred Everywhere

Reader comment on item: Islam's Future [Can Be Modern]

Submitted by Unknown (United States), May 24, 2005 at 14:25

Before 9/11 many Americans didn't even know what Islam was. After 9/11 many Americans unfortunately have witnessed hatred of some people who claimed to be Muslims and who believed they were doing the right thing by attacking Americans.

These people in the Eastern world have felt this hatred against America for the longest time. They have been brain-washed to believe America is the enemy. They have been brainwashed by politicians who want this hatred to exist by using propaganda and playing with these peoples' sentiments.

The same hatred is growing in the Western world against Islam and all muslims. Just as these easterners have been brainwashed we are also being led to believe that all muslims are bad because of a few bad ones.

This hatred will eventually turn into a huge disaster which I fear unless we learn to tolerate each other and open our eyes to witness what these societies are about before labeling them as evil.
