Greetings Keith, you are quite correct, there are many sects of Christians. And all are free to concoct any number of fantasy mythology regarding Jesus. The only true Authority, which has been in existence since Jesus walked among us is the Holy Roman Catholic Church. It is this Church which is the source of dogma regarding Jesus Christ. For better or for worse, the catechism of the Catholic Church is the only accepted world wide dogma of the Christian faith. In the Council of Nicea, the Church, under Constantine, declared that .."We believe in One Lord, Jesus Christ, begotten , not made ONE IN BEING with the Father"..

You seek truth; Jesus is the truth. Being a Christian is to love all human beings, even those who, like Muhammed, persecutes ,terrorizes, and torments Christians. Muslams that deny Christians their right to worship, and assemble. Even the Muslams who hate, because it is hate that gives their lives meaning. That is the truth. Muslams find the concept of "God is Love" as absurd, but that is truth also. Muhammed created his mythology by the sword, and lived by the sword, and his mythology will be destroyed by the sword. No one speaks for God, I believe that Jesus was the incarnation of God, and He spoke for God. I wish the peace of the Prince of Peace for you and your loved ones.
