Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?

Submitted by PDM (United States), Dec 20, 2007 at 18:24

"Islam is not the enemy, but Islamism is"

I fail to see the logic in this statement.

Let me see if I can construct a logical sequence or 'proof.' Please correct me where I am confused.

1) Muslims are people who are members of an organization known as islam

2) The principle guide book of islam and muslims is the koran

3) the koran exhorts members of islam (muslims) to kill non-muslims

Therefore - islam exhorts members (muslims) to kill non-members (non-muslims).

Question: In what country or countries are organizations with these goals and practices permitted?
