I do not read OT Hebrew - NT Greek or 'classical' arabic - BUT

When I read an English translation of the Hebrew or Christian scriptures - first of all, I can understand the context and the 'message' being conveyed by the author; secondly, I am frequently inspired to be a better person; thirdly, my ability to understand and be inspired bolsters my belief that these writings are indeed God's means of communication to me.

When I read an English translation of the quran (of which I have 7 - all translated by muslims) I come away with a lack of any understanding of context but a full understanding of the author's message of hatred toward 1] poly-theists, 2] unbelievers, 3] Jews and 4] Christians. Based on the clear teachings of the quran - islam is tolerant ONLY of islam - all other 'beliefs' must be at worst elliminated or at best subjurgated. I do not hear MY GOD communicating to me in the quran.

You quoted the first few ayat of the 2nd sura - it begins with 'Alif Lam Mim' - a quranic 'miracle' - PLEASE!!!!!

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I AM the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I AM the Resurection and the Life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die."

Eternal life can be found in no one other than Jesus (the Christ).

This matter was settled 600 years before mohammad began playing with rocks.

The word 'submit' or its derivitives appear in the Jewish 'OT' just 3 times and in the Christian 'NT' 9 times and only 1 time in the NT does it refer to God (James 4:7). How does a concept (submission) that receives so little attention in the Judeo/Christian holy writ, come to such a position of prominence in an upstart faith that it should actually take it for its name?

May I suggest that submission is not an act of the 'Heart' but of the 'Mind'. Submission, particularly as it relates to islam, is the response of the mind in fear of some present or future action by the feared party. For instance; one might submit to allah in order to escape future suffering at the hands of allah in hell-fire (it is interesting that from a Christian perspective, it is Satan and his minions that dispense suffering in hell-fire), or one may submit to muslem subjugation and pay the extortion tax to escape the threat of future punishment at the hands of your friendly muslem subjugators, or one could resist ...

Rayes, I believe you have a good heart and that you truly believe that submission to allah is the answer to all the world's problems, I simply do not agree with that position. If you are willing, I would like to match the teachings of Jesus to the teachings of mohammad. To start out, Jesus gave specific instructions as to how to spread the True Faith: Matthew 28:18 - 20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Please respond with a cited ayat from the quran that expresses how mohammad would have islam spread.

Thank you in advance and may the True and Living God of the Jews and Christians bless your efforts ...
