I feel sorry for Daniel Pipes!

Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?
in response to reader comment: Islam is the enemy and should be banned!!!

... Daniel Pipes seems to believe that there is such a thing as moderate Islam and that moderate voices within Islam will prevail over fundamentalist Islam, given sufficient encouragement. Little does he know about Islam in non-Western countries such as India. The Indian experience, the Hindu experience with Islam is ten times more damning than the Western experience with Islam. When Hindus begin to tell the world about Muslim rulers and their attitudes to indigenous religions, about the mindless atrocities committed in the name of Islam on Indians, when the world begins to listen to the Hindu evidence against Islam in the sub-continent, the moral horror that goes by the name of Islam will be fully exposed. Daniel Pipes should update his understanding of Islam as it was spread in the Indian sub-continent.

Mr Pipes, there is only one kind of Islam and that is the literalist kind, a la Wahhabism. All the rest are non-functional and irrelevant.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Wahhabism is 2 1/2 centuries old. How, then, can all of Islam be Wahhabism? The illogic of your views is self-evident.
