Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?
in response to reader comment: Power of the Truth vs The Power of a Ban

Dear M. Tovey,

Although I agree with you that the entire truth of the world can be found in the Holy Scriptures, we cannot shove this belief down anyone's throat. I know a preacher who approaches possible future believers in an attacking mode, which is so so wrong. The Lord gave us all a free will to believe or not to believe. He also said that He made all men know that there is GOD, whether they like it or not. Was it not Carl Jung who had as his epitaph: " Bidden or unbidden, God is present"? God, not Allah.

But I have never yet argued with a Muslim about this, I do not have a hatred for other's beliefs, I just pray for them with love. Judaism and Christianity are inextricably linked, whether or not the Jews or Christians like this. Both religions have gone through the fire in our history. Jesus Christ was born a Jew, and that is a genealogical fact as presented in the Bible. The apostle Paul, who had been known as Saul before the road to Damascus, approached the Corinthians by showing them their "unknown God" rather than ridiculing them or riding in on chargers to slaughter them if they didn't believe.

If we really want people to come to the knowledge that they need a saviour and that Jesus Christ is the way, then we have to learn how to approach them properly, that is, with love. Yes, we will see that all that has been written in the Holy Scriptures will come to fruition, from Genesis to Revelation, but in the meantime, we have to live in this world and tolerate other religions, because if we are truly saved, we have to start seeing people through the eyes of God. I think that is the most difficult task in front of us, to get the mite out of our own eye, not to judge others. Let God be the judge.
