Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?
in response to reader comment: Islam has nothing to do with christianity

You are exactly right.

The U.S.A. has been so blessed largely because 200+ years ago it was founded by our Christian fore-fathers who knew the value of seperation of Church and State; also, they knew it was a fundamental principle of the Word of God to value volition, or freedom to choose, his or her faith.

God of Christianity VALUES this volition. If we are not free to choose for or against Him, HOW COULD WE CHOOSE for or against Him?

This is a major, major difference between what Islam teaches and what the Word of God, the Bible, teaches.

Qur'an 9.111 states that by killing (and taking away the unbeliever's volition) you will go to "Paradise" - eternal life.

The Bible states "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved" - Acts 16:31

History shows many illustrations of horribly violent periods in both Islam and Christianity (especially atrocities commited by the RCC) - but the Bible never instructs killing based solely on disbelief.

The Qur'an not only commands it, it rewards it with Paradise.

I wish more Americans held your views, Dana. We are a spoiled nation that has long forgotten the sacrifice of our ancestors, including those that died so we might be free.

May God Bless you
