Saudi money is remaking world Islam in its murderous Wahabi image

Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?

Islam can't be banned, but it could be suffocated in the West if we stopped Moslem immigration and Saudi money.

The distinction between "Islamist" and "Islam" is probably confusing because the labels aren't right for the underlying (real) difference.

To me, the real difference is between Wahabi, Arab Islam and the far-flung "folk Islam" of south Asia, Indonesia, and Bosnia -- which was more casual, nominal, and multi-cultural perforce the circumstances in which it developed.

Unfortunately, Saudi money is reaching out to re-Islamize the folk-Islam parts of the world as well as extending the horror worldwide.

The demonic vortex of the world threat of Islam is Saudi's hideous combination of oil, the Moslem "holy sites" and l and the political agreement between the Saudis and the Wahabis.

The Saudi royal family are decadent "whiskey Wahabis", but the Imams are REAL Wahabis -- and the Imams control the population far more than the Saudi royal family.

The Saudi people themselves are vicious Moslem fanatics to a great degree, probably even surpassing Pakistan on a "per capita evil" (PCE) basis. Remember how they cheered on 9/11.

I heard an excellent lecture last year on many Moslem-related topics and a key point was that the Saudis at some point around 1990 (give or take) basically lost control of the country to the Wahabis. The Wahabis said "we will leave you in power if you channel most of your income to spreading Wahabi Islam to the world".

That rang true with me because I recall that in the 1980s, the Saudis had a lot of big, flashy public works projects. Since then, however, although oil has continued to increase in value, the Saudis aren't doing that kind of thing anymore (it seems to me.)

I think Saudi is the lynchpin, although the bulk of Islam's murderous, maniacal strength is in Pakistan.

We need a secular Arab power to destroy Saudi Arabia and bring it into at least the 20th century.

We had one in Saddam and we cleverly got rid of him AND got ourselves firmly stuck in a pointless Moslem meat grinder.
