Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?
in response to reader comment: To Hamri: In Mulims human nature trumps the Koran and Allah. Part II

Yeah let me straighten this out, I wasnt very clear and that my fault. I posted on the other article "How the West could lose" under the name Moderate Muslim. Remember? Thought so. Anyway, we have been over this again and again. I don't thrust any thing on you. Believe what you want. If you want to be a Jew, by all means, go ahead. If you want to be an atheist, thats your choice. Not mine. If you want to learn about Islam, I would be happy to help. My job is not to make you a Muslim, and this is clearly explained in the Quran Surah Al Baqarah:

2:256 "There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. "

17:53, 54 And tell my servants that they should speak in a most kindly manner (unto those who do not share their beliefs).

39:41 Assuredly, We have sent down the Book to you in right form for the good of man. Whoso guided himself by it does so to his own advantage, and whoso turns away from it does so at his own loss. You certainly are not their keeper.

Just so you don't have to take my word for it. But you'll probably just quote another ayat which tells me I'm wrong and then I'll refute it, but whatever.

So just so were clear, I agree with you on many things, I do not however believe that Muslims are any worse as people than other people on the whole. However, there are some Muslims who are not reading the above ayats or ignoring them, and Muslims as a whole need to be more educated in Quranic studies and the like before they go proclaiming and issues fatwa's. If one is to give advice, they need to be extremely sure that they know what they are talking about and that it is true, and that is a very big problem in the Arab world.
