No it is called surat al-3alaq and more evidence that no one had a clue about the book of your Allah so some call it surat Iqra' because it is the first word in the Sura and later 3Ulama called it surat al-3alaq just like Q105 or Surat al-Feel Tabari calls it Alam tara. Go figure

So if we have no way of even agreeing about the names of suras why should we know how was Q96 revealed to Abul Qasim and is it the first revealed sura or not and as a matter of fact in the early commentaries of the Qur'an we are told that the first revealed sura is al-mudhdhaththir or Q74.

Do you know what this means? It means that either Q74 or Q96 is the first sura and it cannot be both, but this also means that no one had a clue and every one was guessing. So much for islam

So why do you expect me to tell you anything about sabab al-nuzul for Q96 unless you happen to believe and debate fiction.

But the real question is: how come you did not know that?
