I really don't want to insult you or anybody else around the world because each situation is different.
But you must be out of your mind if you think people don't take the bible literally. Do you see that because people took the bible literally billions of Africans were taken as slaves in America for over 400 years. and you have the kkk and small nazi groups that hate blacks and Jews. Because Christians take the bible literally is why the first black man is running for president and gotten threat letters well before he even start to campaign.

Because people took the bible literally a women is now serving time in prison because after her son broke his leg in half. She said G-d will heal it and prayed that it will heal on its on. While the boy went into a coma. If she didn't take it literally then she would have known that G-d works through us thats why people are doctors, nurses and there will aways be.

Taking the bible literally. People believe that they can disobey the ten commandments and all they have to do is ask forgiveness and their free to do it again. That's good to believe and all but since G-d gave us rules to follow it makes scent to not beak them and if you do. Try not to do it again right? I mean people say don't mix religion an politics but isn't thats what everybody does. Because laws were created given to man from G-d for us to obey. Without law there will be no control. G-d gave man law and its up to man to maintain it.
