Robert -- You don't understand Islam

Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?
in response to reader comment: Romesh-how about a little reconsideration?

You wrote "Thank you for your reflections on my comments. I understand ,and for some time, have felt the impulse to ban the practice of Islam. But is it realistic to take a complete belief system ,in one fell swoop, away from 2-3 million Americans? We must think in terms of some kind of compromise. My suggestion for legal enforcement of the separation of the practice of political verses from religious could be a beginning wedge. I would imagine a fair number of American Muslims would be relieved of an onerus burden. I could be very wrong, but we must try. The alternatives are too bleak.".

You don't understand Islam. You cannot pick and choose verses of Koran. It is all or nothing. Just ask any muslim. If you pick and choose, you destroy Islam. Moreover, there is no separation of mosque and the state in Islam.

Yes, it is quite realistic to ban a complete belief system of 2-3 million immigrants (there are very few muslim citizens yet). It will become unrealistic when they approach, say, 20 million. (That is why we cannot ban Islam in India -- there are over 150 million of them there). Half-hearted measures don't achieve any results. I am not pushing for genocide; only convert or go elsewhere; that is all. After all, muslims have used the sword or conversion wherever they ruled (especially, in the Indian sub-continent).
