"The United States Islam De-certification Act of 2009"

Reader comment on item: Ban Islam?

If a candidate in the 2008 presidential campaign made the following commitment, they would be elected in a landslide.

"If elected president, I will commit to introducing the "US Islam Decertification Act of 2009", re-classifying Islam from a religion to a political movement on a mosque by mosque, case by case basis, for all mosques in which hatred of Jews, Christians, 'non-believers', 'infidels' , etc. is preached, advocated, appeased or otherwise enabled by the responsible clerics of that given mosque. Upon ascertaining hate speech or intolerance, or the advocacy of violence or the appeasement of violence in any form, said mosque will be shut down, and the land and real property sold at auction to the highest bidder."

If the moderate muslims can't get their act together, then we will have to 'cleanse' their so-called religion for them. If the moderate muslims are enabled to resisit Islamist hatred by the 'Decertification Act' , then Pipes is correct. But like Iraq, we must give the moderate muslims some muscle to lean on in their interaction with the crazies.
