Hi , dhimmi no more!

> Thank you for great information. I study late antique Egypt and early Islam, and the origin of islam.

You mean Egypt as a province of the later Roman empire , after Diocletian's reforms ?

> There is no doubt that reading Wansbrough's great books: "Quranic studies" and "Sectarian Milieu" changed the way I do see the origin of Islam. I came to realize that to really understand early Islam one must be able to read the sources not only in Arabic but also in Syriac (this must be the most important language in the late antique period and the major source of foreign words in the Qur'an), Greek (and no I'm not fluent in Modern Greek), Coptic and Hebrew.

You're a genius for languages . I don't exaggerate. I noticed it from your replies to our Arab audience! I envy you, man! And I'm pleased to announce that Moslems must consider therefore you to be a very dangerous person to their so called "cause of Allah". More people like you are needed for the cause of freedom from Allah...

Having said that I'd like to ask you if you could help me with one thing I am much interested in . You seem to be a God-sent opportunity to me. A few years ago I read Julius Wellhausen's "Das arabische Reich und sein Sturz" ("The Arab empire and its fall") , originally published in 1905. I read the second edition from 1960 . In my opinion it is one of the outstanding works of unfettered European scientific spirit . Oriental history is described critically discarding all Moslem fairy tales and obvious self-glorifying distortions. What a difference to the slavish distorted Eurabian spirit of today, works by voluntary intellectual janissaries proclaiming Moslem lies as "history" and "the religion of peace" !

On page 140 Wellhausen referring to Eutychius tells about Walid I " Von einer christlichen Kirche in Baalbekk nahm er die vergoldete Kuppel von Erz ab und brachte sie an der Moschee von Jerusalem , ueber dem heiligen Felsen" (Eutych.2, 373) (From a Christian church in Baalbekk he took the gilded copper dome and let it be set over the mosque in Jerusalem on the holy rock. (Eutych. 2, 373)"

What amazed me in this short notice is the fact - I was unaware of before - how the notorious Al-Haram al-Sharif "acquired" its dome. A classical Moslem method of theft by broad daylight and desacration of a non-Moslem sanctuary. And then admant and fiery denial of and silence on of the crime so that now all the world seeing the Dome of the Rock thinks of the glorious third most sacred place of Islam , not of the victimized Christian community of Baalbekk.

Now my question is : could you check this passage in Eutychius' "Nazm al-Gawahir" ("Chaplet of Pearls") and/or translate it for me? I'd feel so obliged as here in Poland I couldn't find Eutychius' work and even if I had done not knowing Arabic I'd be unable to understand the fragment in question.

> Now as for the word dhimmi: we are told in the Muslim sources (sira/maghazi and tarikh) that Muhammad the Arabian war lord ghaza (invaded) the Oasis of Khaybar, that was populated by Jews, in 628 CE and as expected he looted the place and then established a "dhimma" or mithaq or 3Ahd (agreement) with the Jews where they will be ahl al-dhimma (the poeple of the agreement) and therefore in Arabic they became dhimmiees. They pay the jizya tax in exchange for "Muslim protection"! Sounds like mafia protection to me.

To me it doesn't sound, it is a maffia protection. Islam is a sort of improved and enlarged maffia , with one more difference, namely it leaves no ways out for anyone who gets ensnared by it also in the hereafter, not merely in this world. In this world there is dar-al-Islam(maffia) and dar al-harb(non maffia). In the hereafter there is only dar-al-Islam (maffia).

> So my :Dhimmi no more" is a statement that we shall have no dhimma (agreement) with Muslims and islam will be defeated.

I fully share this view . No concessions to Moslems!

Respectfully yours ,

Ianus!
