Reader comment on item: How to End Terrorism:
in response to reader comment: The West must be united and determind to fight the reconquest of islam

There will be NO help from Islamic "moderates," because- they want to believe this "caliphate" is possible; they see that non-Muslims are not serious; and can really see no immediate personal gain from resisting; SUBMISSION, after all, is one of the tenants of their faith.

All Pipes says is educational, accurate, and beside the point. Europe, China, Russia and a good piece of the rest of the world have been convinced that it is BAD for the US to be the only "superpower" [I forego mentioning the useless French, who are reflexively anti-Semitic and anti-American]. The post modernist half-baked, half-assed understanding of "history" now long taught, combined with p.c. secular progressive relativism, have clouded minds to the point where rational analysis is impossible.

According to NYT, WP et al, there's no difference between evangelical and/or charismatic Christians and Wahabi's, & Iranian Shi'a, so fighting Terrorism should not be a "Crusade." Instead, we need to "negotiate" with Iran & Syria, set aside Bush's demand that Iran cease and desist it's nuclear bomb making, give the Golan and Lebbanon to Syria, and everything beyond the 1967 borders to the Palestinians.

The specific, primary thrust of the UN & EU for the past 10-15 years at least, has blatantly been to "take America down," redistribute it's wealth, CONTROL & TAX Americans, and damned the consequences. The "Philosopher Kings" who fronted James Baker's commission have come to the inevitable conclusion: "It's all Israel's fault, and America's, also, for backing them;" and notwithstanding militant Islamist's stated objective for the caliphate, settling the "Palestine" question [having caused], will solve all the problems of the Islamic world.

To even mention that this was Baker's FAILED opinion/policy when he was Sec. State, and remains unchanged by facts on the ground yet and still [after all, the Saudi's pay the bills for his "think tank" and law firm] is impolite and beyond discussion. Furthermore - the incredible hubris Baker displayed [on TV Wed.], insisting that Bush "not cherry pick the 'report,' [but, rather EAT IT WHOLE]" is breathtaking!

This committee insists the elected American President - Commander in Chief, his Joint Chiefs and entire Admin. be set aside and subjugated to a "dictat" from unelected arabist LOBBYISTS, and the fools who are fronting for them. Worst of all, with lib/dem/progressives [i.e. socialist, redistributionist, internationalists] now "running things," I see no "light at the end of the tunnel." In fact, I see no light at all; only an Age of Darkness descending upon the world. ma
