Reader comment on item: How to End Terrorism:
in response to reader comment: There always was and is a moderate Islam

"It is the extreme intolerent brand of Islam (that you seem to think is real Islam) that is new on the world stage. And this violent brand is not a religion, but a violent ideology that is a political over-reaction to Western dominance of the Middle East and the world."

what about the violence by muslims since the 7th century against non-muslims, it seems to me a common pattern

"And the Ottoman Empire and Moorish Empires, among others, with their focus on reason and logic as the way to intepret the Koran "

hey deluded one, here's a little history lesson for yourself. Moors in sicily only brought death and destruction, they even implemented the jyza that was later taken as example by the mafia (mafia, an arab word kindly given by moors) performed as legitimate extorsion.

Secondly, albanian christian orthodox had been kicked out from their land by the peaceful ottomans who took also christian children as SLAVES (google janissaires).

Where do you see reason and logic? i see only violence, backwardness, supremacism, domination and suppression of "others".

"Read the letter written to the Pope by the 38 of the world's most respected Muslim scholars. They represent all major sects of Islam - an they all agreed on this interpretation of the Koran - a moderate interpretation in my opinion."

Considering how the postal service is in italy I think and hope that the pope never wasted his time reading the incoherent mumblings of some muslims.

I also hope he noticed instead the "peaceful" ones wanting his head for his speech in germany.
