Inter-Moslem war

Reader comment on item: How to End Terrorism:
in response to reader comment: We never had it so good than when Saddam worked for us

Dear Tom Penny ,

Thank you for your comment. I completely agree with you. This war can be a chance to beat the Moslems with their own weapons as long as one is ready to take some judicious diplomatic steps and accept some minor negative side-effects. A major conflict within the Moslem camp would be a blessing both for America , Europe and Israel reducing the Moslem pressure on all of us and perhaps pushing them for decades back from their utopian dreams of an Islam-ridden West.

> Of course, we might experience some short term pain when the oil supply gets disrupted. But maybe that might motivate us to become energy independent.

Again and again I have come across assertions that alternative (non-oil ) energy technologies are ripe and advanced enough to replace the conventional oil-driven engines but this can't be implemented as the oil companies and all earning fortunes on oil will thwart it by all possible means. Perhaps a new global energy crisis like that following the Saudi embrago of 1974 is needed to bring about another (oil-free) technological revolution ? Having no oil to sell oil companies would be forced to look for alternative sources of income. And such a crisis would necessarily follow a major inter-Moslem war.

> As far as the idea of using the Chinese, it appears maybe the Chinese already thought of this and are trying to use radical Islam to knock us down.

I think so too. The Chinese are not stupid and they know well recurrent predictions voiced in America of a great future conflict between China and the US in the Pacific region. As far as I know the US makes little - if any- efforts to dispel the Chinese anxieties and apprehensions and acquire in China a new friend and ally in the struggle against common enemies. If this assessment is true, then using Islam as a powerful weapon against America is quite obvious and logical , although the Chinese are too aware on account of their recent history with the Uighurs how dangerous and double-edged the sword of islam can be if turned against China herself.
