Muslim communities being generally incapable or unwilling to purge their own. [My emphasis]

If this is indeed a fact---and Miss Kelly confirms that it is---then you have entered a contradiction on the paragraph following--that is: "In contrast, only Muslims can undertake the second step, the formulation and spread of an Islam that is modern, moderate, democratic, liberal, good-neighborly, humane, and respectful of women' but who are --to repeat Pipes: incapable or unwilling to purge their own. My view is perhaps simple, but perhaps not overly simplistic, namely, their faith proscribes anti-Muslim activities together with "normal" genetic cowardice of most men.. A Muslim cannot turn against a Muslim, no matter what! Or face the wrath of the Muslim terrorist. Since personal physical security is paramount as a form of survival for every man, most men are not eager to enter a fight if it is at all possible to retreat. [ I am not finding fault with Muslim cowardice. Most men will back off from a loudmouth pugnacious bore at a bar ---or a terrorist with a gun---and it takes a special sort of guy to undertake to shut him up! ]
