in response to reader comment: Revive House' Unamerican Activities Committee' to tackle Islamic Terrorism

Mr Romesh Chander,

You are right in saying that 'where there is a will there is a way', but do you believe that people have the stomach to go all out against Islam in this way while there are still moderate muslims in this world? I don't think this kind of ideological attack would be acceptable to people in general.

In India we cannot even say it out aloud that Islamic teaching in madrasas is going to ruin this country, without being branded a right-wing Hindu fanatic. Our national dailies still refer to Congress as a secular party even though It is blatantly pro-muslim.

My feeling is that though many people realise that Islam is a problem to the world's security and to the western ideas of freedom of speech and thinking, It is not going to be easy to tackle islamic faith head-on. Only the moderate muslims can make a difference by speaking up loudly and clearly against Islamic radical teaching and muslim separateness or self-imposed muslim apartheid.
