Moderate Islam, a pipe dream

Reader comment on item: How to End Terrorism:

Daniel Pipes is absolutely, unequivocally correct in stating that "Moderate Islam may be the key to wining war on terror." But there is a wee fly in the ointment. There never was, there is not now, nor will there ever be a "moderate Islam". Islam is based on the Qur'an, the words that came directly from Angel Gabriel to Muhammad, Allah's only messenger.

What Muslim leader is willing to face Allah eye to eye and give him the bad news that we need to change his instructions. The Bible has many authors, Moses, Solomon, Daniel, Jeremiah, Peter, John and Paul, just to name few. Some of the books of the Bible are without an identified author. The Qur'an has ONE author, Muhammad. Christians can easily accept that errors may have been made in the Bible giving consideration to the many authors and at least four different original languages. But what errors can there be in the Qur'an, with only one author who received the word directly from an angel and had it recorded in one language? Wishful thinking Dr. Pipes; it ain't going to happen!
